Xavier Rajarathnam - MPT, MCSP, SRP.

Director

Xavier is the co-founder of Xcel Health and specialised in Orthopaedics, Sports Injuries and Musculoskeletal Medicine for the past 20 years, he has gained a Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine and Injection Therapy and more recently he received his postgraduate certificate in independent prescribing from Greenwich University.

He has a special interest in shoulder injury rehabilitation, spinal mobilisation and managing running injuries. He is trained to Master’s level and able to blend together an array of clinical expertise including manipulation, acupuncture, soft tissue mobilisation and sports rehabilitation with advanced techniques such as injection therapy and independent medicine prescribing. Xavier had a successful career within the NHS where he was an advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner for 10 years, before deciding to branch out on his own.

Xavier is a member of Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports Medicine (ACPSEM), Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Orthopaedic Medicine and Injection Therapy (ACPOMIT) and the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP).

Xavier mentors all our physiotherapists and ensures their continued training as well as providing training course for GPs and other healthcare professionals.

Xavier is father to 2 children and in his free time, enjoys weight training, cycling and badminton.

Kavitha Punniyakotti - MSc Prescribing Paediatric Physiotherapist

Specialist Children Physiotherapist and Non-Medical Independent Prescriber

Kavi is co-founder of Xcel Health and has been working as a specialist paediatric physiotherapist for the past 20 years. She is a Bobath trained physiotherapist, and her treatment is primarily based on this method.

She is also trained in both paediatric neurology and paediatric musculoskeletal conditions and uses Bailey’s assessment and GMFM as a standardised assessment for children. Kavi has been highly trained in gait analysis, which gives her the knowledge she needs when prescribing orthoses for children.

Kavi is a prescribing physiotherapist and gained a Postgraduate Certificate from Greenwich University in 2017.

Kavi is mum to 2 children which keeps her really busy and in her free time, she enjoys baking cakes and cookies.

Karthikeyan Ramalingam - BPhysio (Hons), MPT, MCSP

Head of NHS Services

Karthi is a specialised physiotherapist with 21 years of experience in various clinical settings, mentoring and teaching. He completed his Physiotherapy Honours in Australia and since then has worked in India and Papua New Guinea, where he worked as Head of Rehabilitation Sciences as well as in a teaching hospital before coming to Xcel Health.

He is specialised in musculoskeletal conditions and applies mobilisation and manipulation techniques for spinal and periphery including soft tissue manipulation. His holistic approach coupled with a device management program means that he is able to focus on functional independence based on each individual’s needs.

He is particularly interested in the rehabilitation of lower back and neck pain. He is passionate about the advancement of the profession and undertakes research, which he has presented in international conferences and had published in professional journals. He strongly believes in developing and delivering online education programs in physiotherapy. He has contributed to the development of physiotherapy and community based inclusion development in Papua New Guinea and it is this work that allowed him to be nominated as a temporary advisor for strengthening rehabilitation and education in the Pacific to the WHO. He is a member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Associate member in Australian Physiotherapy Association, he actively engages in International Society for Electrophysical Agents in Physical Therapy (ISEAPT) and World Physio.

In his free time, Karthi loves nature and photography and is a keen follower of cricket.

Abraham Nsibirwa

PCN Development Manager

Abraham is responsible for driving Xcel Health’s growth through partnership and implementing new developments. Abraham's educational background includes a degree in Marketing Management from Manchester Metropolitan University. He is known for his strong connection to Manchester United, but there is a possibility of converting him into a local Gillingham fan in the future.

In terms of his client base, Abraham primarily engages with Clinical Directors, PCN (Primary Care Network) Managers, and Practice Managers. These professionals typically require First Contact Practitioners, and Abraham ensures that he understands their needs and works diligently to meet their expectations.

Abraham is not just a professional but also a passionate individual. He is driven by his love for health and a relentless desire for progress. You can find him pursuing his goals on the field, pushing his limits in the gym, and actively promoting Xcel Health, showcasing his commitment to the company's mission.

Maxine Hawley

Business Manager

Maxine Hawley joined Xcel Health as Private Clinic Manager to lead the team and ensure the clinic runs smoothly, following a career of more than 20 years working in the Travel & Tourism industry, most recently as a Customer Support & Operations Manager.

Maxine is passionate for excellence and company success applying Customer Service experience into Xcel Health, to help the company thrive and make customers smile and enjoy their experience at Xcel Health.

When not working Maxine enjoys planning the next holiday! Or a day out with family & friends, having afternoon tea, shopping and attending music events are just some of her favourite past times.
